Women’s Volleyball Picks Up Ninth Sweep Victory

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's volleyball team moves to 2-0 in conference play, 12-0 overall, after traveling to Lenoir Community College Tuesday evening. Last night's three set sweep was the ninth of the season for the Statesmen.
Richard Bland took the lead early in all three sets, only allowing the Lancers to score double digit points in the second set. The three set sweep had the following scores; 25-8, 25-13 and 25-9. Silaulauinasimativa Aoelua led the attack with 15 kills, followed by Sarah Heath with 12 and Hailey Hopkins with 11. Hopkins also added one block in the win. Karagyn Durco chipped in with 49 assists on the day and Rylie Harris had 20 digs for Richard Bland.
The Richard Bland women's volleyball team next travels to Cape Fear Community College on Friday, September 23rd for a 6pm match.
