Women’s Soccer Shutout Indians On Sophomore Day

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team moves to 2-4 in conference play, 5-9 overall, after hosting USC Salkehatchie Saturday afternoon in the final match of the regular season. Prior to the match, the women's soccer team recognized sophomores Tiffany Hargett, Sasha Fields, Maddie Joiner, Margaret Young, and Candace Johnson for their efforts during their time in the green and white.

The Statesmen controlled the pace of the game through regulation with 23 shots on goal. Lana Hatch put the Statesmen on the board in the 17^th minute and 89^th minute to lead Richard Bland to victory. Kylie Jackson and Angie Finnerty each assisted on one occasion. Tiffany Hargett earned the shutout in net with four saves through regulation. With four saves today, Tiffany Hargett has become the goalkeeper with the most saves in a season with 126, in Richard Bland women's soccer history.

With the win, the Statesmen finish the regular season in third place in Region 10 play. Richard Bland will play #2 USC Lancaster on Saturday, October 29^th at 12:30pm in the semifinal round of the Region 10 Tournament.
