Manuel, Santana Score Hat Tricks in Big Conference Win Over Indians

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team hosted the Indians of USC Salkehatchie for their second conference meeting of the season Sunday Afternoon. Richard Bland earned a 10-0 shutout victory, moving the Statesmen to 7-4-4 overall and 7-2-3 in conference play.

 

Victor Manuel, assisted by Juan Santana, got Richard Bland rolling in the opening minute, giving the Statesmen an early 1-0 lead. The Statesmen tallied five more goals in the first half to lead 6-0 at the break:

Thomas Seymour started the game in net for the Statesmen. He was credited with four saves in 75 minutes of play. Damion Ruffin came in for the final 15 minutes and made two saves.

 

The Richard Bland College men's soccer team next hosts Harford Community College on Tuesday, October 15th in a 3pm nonconference contest. The team will honor their 10 sophomores prior to kickoff.

 

The team will await their final regular season rank ahead of the Region 10 Championship Tournament which will take place in Lancaster, South Carolina on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th.
