SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 7-3 overall after hosting Wake Technical Community College Wednesday afternoon in a non conference contest.

 

The Statesmen got on the board early in the second minute of the game. Andrew Retmier and Michael Afful teamed up for an Afful tally to take the 1-0 lead. The score would remain 1-0 through the half. In the 80th minute, Julian Rivera played a ball through to Jordan Richardson, where Richardson found the back of the net to take the 2-0 lead. Three minutes later, Jose David Tejeda Benitez put one past the keeper on a ball from Riley Newbould to seal the 3-0 victory. Christopher Brown earned the shutout between the pipes through 80 minutes played, making three saves. Mason Dycus made two saves in the final 10 minutes.

 

The Richard Bland men's soccer team next hosts USC Union on Friday, October 7th at 12pm.
