Track & Field Competes at CNU New Captains Classic

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland outdoor track and field team traveled to Newport News, Virginia Saturday afternoon for the CNU New Captains Classic & Combined Events meet, hosted by Christopher Newport University.

Haniyyah Johnson topped the leaderboard for Richard Bland with two 1^st place finishes. Johnson placed 1^st in the long jump and the 100 meter dash.

Women:

Haniyyah Johnson – Long Jump 1^st place – 5.47m, 100M 1^st place – 12.47

Brooklyn Simmons – Long Jump 8^th place – 4.81m

Swayne Clennon – 100M 4^th place – 12.98, 400M 8^th place – 1:03.02

Next up for the Richard Bland track and field team is the 2023 NSU Invitational hosted by Norfolk State University on Saturday, April 15^th.
