Track & Field Competes at Two Events over Weekend

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland Track and Field team traveled to Winston-Salem, NC and Columbia, SC this weekend for the JDL DMR Invitational and USC Indoor Open 2023.

Brooklyn Simmons topped the leaderboard for Richard Bland at the USC Indoor Open. Simmons had a 9^th place finish in the long jump with 17'11.75".

Women:

Swayne Clennon – 60M 19^th place – 7.99, 400M 20^th place – 59.98

Haniyyah Johnson – 60M 23^rd place – 8.03

Brooklyn Simmons – 60M 38^th place – 8.43, LJ 9^th place – 5.84m (17'11.75")

Haniyyah Johnson topped the leaderboard for Richard Bland at the JDL DMR Invitational. Johnson had a 2^nd place finish in the long jump with 17'10.75" and 4^th place finish in the 60 meter dash with 7.93.

Next up for the Richard Bland track and field team is the NJCAA National Tournament on March 3^rd and 4^th in Topeka, Kansas. Haniyyah Johnson qualified for nationals with her performances in the long jump and 60 meter dash at the CNU Holiday Open, and the VCU Indoor Invitational.
