Johnson Qualifies For NJCAA Nationals
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – After competing in just two meets this spring, Haniyyah Johnson, a member of the Richard Bland College track & field team, has qualified for two events in the NJCAA National Tournament which will take place in Topeka, Kansas.
In her first outing at the CNU Holiday Open, Johnson topped the leaderboard finishing in 1st place in the long jump at 5.87m (19'3.25"), 3rd place in the 60M at 7.81, and 5th place in the 200M at 26.92.
In her second outing, at the VCU Indoor Invitational, Johnson had a 1st place finish in the long jump at 5.85m (19'2.31") and a 4th place finish in the 60M at 7.68.
Johnson is currently ranked #1 in the NJCAA with a jump of 5.87m, 19'3.25". She is also ranked in the top five for the 60M with a time of 7.68. With her strong performances, Johnson has qualified for both the long jump and the 60M events at the 2023 women's track and field national championship.
The 2023 NJCAA women's indoor track & field championship takes place at Washburn University in Topeka, Kanas. The tournament is scheduled for March 3-4th.
