Johnson Commits to Averett University
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Candace Johnson, a sophomore captain of the Richard Bland College women's soccer team has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at NCAA Division III, Averett University.
The Stafford, Virginia native contributed to much success for the third year program. In year one, Johnson started all 10 games for the Statesmen. She was named 2nd Team All-Region for her efforts on the backline. Johnson had two goals on the season for four points, and was credited with three shots on goal. In year two, Johnson was once again named 2nd Team All-Region as a defender. She started all 15 games and was credited with two assists and three shots.
Johnson's leadership, presence, and vocality on the field will be missed next fall, but her teammates and coaching staff wish her the best of luck moving forward.
Averett University is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
