Women's Soccer Places Six on All Region Team and Coach of the Year
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Women's Soccer team finished the season in 3rd place with a record of 5-7 overall and 4-5 in conference play while landing 6 spots on the Region X All Region Teams.
Tiffany Hargett, Amanda-Grace Marshall, and Gabriella Sylstra earned 1st team honors, with Jennifer Argueta, Sasha Fields, and Candace Johnson earning 2nd team.
Goalkeeper Tiffany Hargett posted 3 shutout wins, 103 saves, 1.50 goals against average with .873 save percentage in 900:30 minutes of play. Hargett also earned 1 assist.
Defender Amanda-Grace Marshall garnered 6 goals and 2 assists for a total of 14 points. Marshall was credited with 29 shots and 19 shots on goal.
Midfielder Gabriella Sylstra was credited with 12 goals, 4 game winning, and 4 assists on the season earning 28 total points. Sylstra tallied 66 shots with 41 shots on goal.
Midfielder Jennifer Argueta posted 4 goals and 5 assists on the season to total 13 points. Argyeta had 30 shots with 22 shots on goal for .733 shots on goal percentage.
Defender Sasha Fields garnered 10 goals with 2 assists for a total of 22 points on the season. Fields was credited with 25 shots and 20 shots on frame.
Defender Candace Johnson was credited with 2 goals for 4 points on the season. Johnson was a force to be reckoned with on the backline assisting in multiple saves in front of the goal and tallied 5 shots and 3 shots on goal.
First year head coach, Jenna Castricone was voted Coach of The Year by the Region X Division 1 coaches. With only 13 players, Castricone led the team to a 5-7 overall record and 4-5 in conference play to advance them to the Region X Semifinal match.
