Hill Scores Seventh Double-Double Against Hurricanes
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Women's Basketball team hosted Louisburg College Saturday afternoon in their second meeting of the season. After completion of the conference contest, the Statesmen moved to 5-15 overall, 5-12 in conference play.
In the game, Louisburg College jumped out to an early 10-point lead after through the first period. Richard Bland outscored the Hurricanes in the second, by four, to pull the game within six, trailing 33-39 at the break. The Hurricanes came out of the break hot, scoring 29 points in the third and 23 in the fourth, compared to the Statesmen tallying 15 and 19. At the final buzzer, Richard Bland dropped the conference game, 67-91.
Aryauna Brent led the way for Richard Bland with 19 points, five rebounds, five steals, and two assists. Ni'Ana Hill scored her seventh double-double of the season with 12 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and three blocks. Off the bench, Khamaya Earley posted 12 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and one assist. DaNiya McClure and Ma'Liyah Hodges scored 11 points each and total 11 rebounds and four assists together. Keimare Gray added four rebounds and two points in the loss.
Richard Bland shot 30.1% from the field, 25.0% from the perimeter, and 70.4% from the charity stripe.
The Richard Bland College Women's Basketball team next travels to Cape Fear Community College on Friday, February 21st and Brunswick Community College on Saturday, February 22nd. Friday's tip-off is scheduled for 5pm, and Saturday's will be at 1pm.
