Roy Signs With Clinton College
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Amira Roy, a member of the inaugural Richard Bland College national champion runners up women's basketball team, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at NCCAA Division I Clinton College, beginning fall 2023.
The Fredericksburg, VA native contributed to much success for the first year program. Roy spent her first season with the College of Southern Maryland, prior to transferring to Richard Bland for her second season. In her Richard Bland campaign, Roy helped her team reach a 29-3 overall record, 16-2 in conference play. The team defeated Catawba Valley Community College in the Region 10 Championship contest, to earn a bid at the 2022-23 NJCAA National Tournament. Roy was a key player in the NJCAA National Tournament as she helped her team defeat #9 Mid-Michigan, upset #1 Morton, and upset #5 Harcum College to get to the championship game.
On the season, Roy started 14 of 23 games played for a total of 107 minutes. She went 86-185 from the field, averaging 46.5%, and 8.0 points per game. At the perimeter, Roy went 1-1 averaging 100.0% and at the charity stripe she went 12-21 averaging 57.1%. Roy totaled 185 points, 129 rebounds, five assists, 6 steals, and 18 blocks.
Clinton College, located in Rock Hill, South Carolina is a Division I member of the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association.
