Scott Signs With Winston Salem State University
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Courtney Scott, a member of the inaugural Richard Bland College national champion runners up women's basketball team, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at NCAA Division II Winston Salem State University, beginning fall 2023.
The Hopewell, VA native contributed to much success for the first year program. In her Richard Bland campaign, Scott helped her team reach a 29-3 overall record, 16-2 in conference play. The team defeated Catawba Valley Community College in the Region 10 Championship contest, to earn a bid at the 2022-23 NJCAA National Tournament. Scott was a key player in the NJCAA National Tournament as she helped her team defeat #9 Mid-Michigan, upset #1 Morton, and upset #5 Harcum College to get to the championship game.
On the season, Scott started 26 of 29 games played for a total of 242 minutes. She went 132-300 from the field, averaging 44.0%, and averaging 12.0 points per game. At the perimeter, Scott went 32-95 averaging 33.7% and at the charity stripe she went 51-63 averaging 81.0%. Scott totaled 347 points, 219 rebounds, 103 assists, 75 steals, and 20 blocks.
