Women’s Basketball Grabs Win During PINK OUT
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The #16 Richard Bland College Women's Basketball team moves to 18-1 overall, 11-1 in conference play after hosting the Cape Fear Community College Sea Devils Saturday afternoon in a PINK OUT game. The Statesmen rose to the occasion by warming up in pink shirts in honor and support of breast cancer awareness.
Cape Fear took an early, 27-18 lead through the first quarter, and carried a 41-40 lead into the break. The Statesmen came out of the break hot, outscoring the Sea Devils 28-23 in the third and 20-17 in the fourth to earn the conference win at home.
Three Statesmen scored double-digit figures in the win led by Auzhane Allard tallying her 12th double-double of the season with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Allard also added three assists, two blocks and one steal. Janiah Jones added 22 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Jasmine Norman chipped in with 17 points, seven assists and three rebounds, while Courtney Scott had nine points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Richard Bland went 50.0% from the charity stripe, 47.4% from the field, and 30.0% from the perimeter.
The Richard Bland College women's basketball team next hosts Southwest Virginia Community College on Saturday, February 11th at 1pm.
