Allard Notches Eighth Double-Double in Conference Win

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Women's Basketball team moves to 15-0 overall, 8-0 in conference play after hosting the Red Hawks of Catawba Valley Community College Saturday afternoon.

The Statesmen took an early 19-12 lead through the first quarter. The Red Hawks outscored the Statesmen by one in the second to trail by six to Richard Bland at the break. Richard Bland came out strong in the third period scoring 27 points, and 23 in the fourth to earn an 82-52 victory at home.

Five Statesmen scored double-digit figures in the win. Auzhane Allard notched her eighth double-double of the season with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Allard also added six assists, two steals and one block. Jasmine Norman added 14 points and six assists. Kennedee Matthews, Courtney Scott and Janiah Jones had 10 points each. Matthews was credited with six assists, five steals and two rebounds. Scott added eight rebounds, three steals and one block, while Jones added three assists.

Richard Bland went 55.6% from the charity stripe, 45.7% from the field, and 20.0% at the perimeter.

The Richard Bland College women's basketball team next hosts Louisburg College on Wednesday, January 25^th. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm.
