SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team traveled to Denmark Technical College Friday afternoon for the second conference meeting of the season with the Panthers. The Statesmen came out victorious, 6-0, moving the Statesmen to 5-4-3 overall and 5-2-3 in conference play.
Play remained balanced through 19 minutes of action this afternoon, however, in the 20th minute, Richard Bland took the lead and never looked back. In the 20th minute, Juan Santana assisted Connor Nickerson to put the Statesmen ahead 1-0. The duo teamed up once again five minutes later for the same sequence, with Nickerson increasing the lead to two. In the 30th minute, Daniel Nunfio assisted Victor Manuel in Manuel's first goal of the game. Bruno Gregor pushed the lead to four finding the back of the net off of a Jeffrey Espinoza pass. With seven minutes remaining in the first half, Espinoza notched one of his own to hold a 5-0 lead heading into the half. In the 57th minute, Santana tallied one for himself, and had the lone goal of the second half, helping the Statesmen bring home a 6-0 conference victory.
Thomas Seymour made his second start of the season in the frame, and was credited with four saves in the win.
The Richard Bland College men's soccer team next hosts Louisburg College on Monday, October 7th in a 2pm non-conference match.
