Richard Bland Places Second At Eagles' Cup Tournament

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Richard Bland College men's golf team posted a 36-hole team score of 308-302--610 to finish second among nine teams at the Eagles' Cup Tournament Saturday and Sunday at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Statesmen placed three golfers among the Top 10 individually, including sophomore Sam Smith/Chesterfield with his score of 70-77--147 to finish fourth, freshman Justin Cranford/Lakeland, Fla. with his score of 75-75--150 to finish eighth and classmate Frankie Lin/Kaohsiung City, Taiwan with his score of 76-75--151 to finish ninth.

Following Smith, Cranford and Lin for Richard Bland were freshman Sebastian Reetze/Bad Salzdetfurth, Germany (87-75--162, t-20th), sophomore Zack Almarode/Hendersonville, Tenn. (93-91--184, t-46th), freshman Austin Britt/Disputanta (91-88--179, 44th), sophomore Jake Pitman/Stony Creek (92-92--184, t-46th) and freshman Owen Larson/Gainesville (86-102--188, 50th).

Richard Bland will compete again at the NJCAA District IV Preview on Sept. 25-27, a 54-hole tournament at the Country Club of Brewton in Brewton, Alabama.
