Storm Outlast Statesmen in Men’s Basketball Non-Conference Action

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Men's Basketball team traveled to #1 Davidson-Davie Community College (NJCAA DII) for a non-conference contest Wednesday evening. After completion of the game, the Statesmen moved to 0-2 overall after falling 75-82, Storm on the road.

Richard Bland battled back and forth with the Storm, at one point, leading by eight, but the Storm continued to fight. There were multiple lead changes in the contest, as Davidson-Davie lead by a narrow, one point margin at the break, 37-38. The Storm outscored the Statesmen 38-44 in the second half to hold on for the 75-82, non-conference victory over Richard Bland.

Off the bench, Andy Ramirez led the way for Richard Bland going 6-10 from the field, 5-5 from the charity stripe, and 1-2 from three, totaling 18 points. Doyle Brown followed closely behind with 17 points and four assists, while Christian Chambers added 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block. Jack Ticic was credited with 11 points and led the boards with six. Stacy Byrd added six points, and Jalen Smith five for Richard Bland.

Richard Bland shot 47.8% from the field, 38.1% from the perimeter, and 79.3% from the charity stripe.

The Richard Bland College Men's Basketball team next travels to Camp Community College on Wednesday, November 13^th at 7pm for a non-conference contest.
