Kourouma Commits to Livingstone College

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Ibrahim Kourouma, a sophomore on the Richard Bland College men's basketball team has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at NCAA Division II Livingston College in Salisbury, North Carolina.

 

The Manhattan, New York native contributed to much success for the well-known program. He has been a key member to the men's basketball team success in Region 10 the last two seasons.

 

In his rookie season, Kourouma made an appearance in 26 of 30 games for the Statesmen. He went 50-158 from the field, 35-106 from the perimeter, and 10-16 from the charity stripe. Kourouma was credited with 145 total points, 41 rebounds, 13 steals, and eight assists. Kourouma also helped the team reach the Region 10 Division I tournament as the 6th seed.

 

In the starting guard's sophomore campaign, he started 26 of 27 games played for the Statesmen, totaling 846 minutes of action. Kourouma went 110-275 from the field, 69-185 from the perimeter, and 28-35 at the free throw line. Ibrahim totaled 317 points on the season and was credited with 109 rebounds, 48 assists, 19 steals, and eight blocks. He helped the team reach the Region 10 Division I Tournament as the 6th seed, and assisted in upsetting the 3rd seed to advance to the Semifinals. Richard Bland fell in the Semifinals, 77-82 to conclude the season.

 

Livingstone College is a Division II member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, primarily competing in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference (CIAA).
