SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Basketball team moves to 3-2 overall after traveling to cross town foe, Virginia State University, for a non conference contest with the jv squad.

 

The Statesmen held an 11 point lead at the half, 36-25, and outscored the Trojans 42-33 in the second half to come out victorious, 78-58 Monday evening. Kelby Saunders Jr. and Eric Wood led the way for the Statesmen with 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists each. Saunders Jr. also tallied four steals and one block while Larry Howell led the boards with 13 rebounds in the win. Martin Kawa added 10 points and eight rebounds for Richard Bland.

 

The Richard Bland College men's basketball team next travels to New Rochelle, New York City for the Monroe College Invitational Friday, November 18th and Saturday, November 19th. The Statesmen will play familiar faces in Allegany College of Maryland at 7pm on Friday, and Hagerstown Community College on Saturday at 4pm.
