Stevenson Signs With Longwood University
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Matt Stevenson, a member of the Richard Bland College 2nd year baseball team, has signed to continue his academic and athletic career at NCAA Division I Longwood University after just one year as a Statesman.
The Ashburn, VA native has contributed to much success for the second year program. In his rookie campaign, Stevenson made an appearance in 40 of 41 games. He averaged .392 at the plate in 143 at bats. Stevenson was credited with 56 hits which include 13 doubles and 11 home runs. He also garnered 39 rbi and was walked 18 times. Stevenson had 34 runs scored and three stolen bases. In the field he had 223 total catches, 203 putouts, and 16 assists for a .982 fielding percentage.
Longwood University is a Division I member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Big South Conference.
