Stevenson Named 2nd Team All-Region
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College baseball team finished the season with a record of 7-25 in conference play, and 7-34 overall after falling to Camp Community College on Sophomore Day. Prior to the start of the Region 10 Championship Tournament, the baseball All-Region teams were announced.
Freshman, first baseman Matt Stevenson earned 2nd team honors as an infielder.
The Ashburn, Virginia native played in 40 of 41 games. He made 143 appearances at the plate, scoring 34 times himself, and recording 56 hits for a .392 batting average. Within his 56 hits, Stevenson had 13 doubles, and 11 home runs, while also walking 18 times. Stevenson was credited with 39 rbi and three stolen bases.
In the field, Stevenson had 223 total catches, 203 putouts, 16 assists, and nine double plays for a .982 fielding percentage.
