Baseball Celebrates Sophomore Day to Close Out Season
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College baseball team moves to 7-34 overall, after hosting Camp Community College Saturday afternoon for a single, non conference game. Prior to the game, the Richard Bland baseball program recognized 13 sophomores for their dedication and efforts during their time in the green and white. Alex Colangelo, Chris Polymeropoulos, Nick Guerra, Connor Woodel, Ben Shaffer, Austin Dansey, Roman Borders, Brandon Arrowood, Landon Hoge, Dylan Bowen, Codie Maitland, Gavin Riley, and Kaleikaumaka Grebin were all recognized.
Bobby Goulder, head coach of the program in 1971 and 1972, threw out the first pitch of the game for the Statesmen.
Richard Bland fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 3-13 loss to the Hurricanes of Camp Community College. Richard Bland struggled to contain the high-powered offense. Nick Guerra went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Statesmen in hits. Connor Woodel took the loss for Richard Bland. The righty surrendered one run on one hit over one inning, striking out two.
