Baseball Walks Away Victorious Over Hampden-Sydney JV in High-Scoring Game
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College baseball team moves to 5-15 overall, 2-12 in conference play after hosting Hampden-Sydney College JV squad this afternoon in a single non conference game.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Thursday in a high-scoring affair where Richard Bland best Hampden-Sydney JV, 14-6. Richard Bland fired up the offense in the second inning, when an error scored one run for the Statesmen. Richard Bland collected 11 hits. Kaleikaumaka Grebin, Matt Stevenson, Michael Caliz, Landon Scott, and Nick Guerra each managed two hits to lead Richard Bland. Matthew Boyd led the Statesmen to victory on the hill. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing one hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking zero.
The Richard Bland College baseball team next travels to Lenoir Community College on Saturday, March 25th for game one and game two of the weekend series. The doubleheader will begin at 12pm. Game three of the series will be on Sunday, March 26th at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, VA. First pitch is set for 12pm.
