Baseball Opens Season at Bridgewater

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College baseball team begins the season 0-1 overall after traveling to Bridgewater College Tuesday afternoon, for a nine inning game with the Eagles' jv squad.
Richard Bland watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-4 loss to Bridgewater. The Eagles scored on a groundout in the first inning, a home run, a fielder's choice, a single, an error, and a sacrifice fly in the second inning.
Conner Floyd was on the hill for the Statesmen. The southpaw lasted one inning, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out one. Matt Stevenson led Richard Bland with three hits in five at bats.
The Richard Bland College baseball team next travels to Lenoir Community College on Saturday, February 11th for day one of their opening conference series. Game three will take place on Sunday at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, Virginia.
