Beach Volleyball Places 5th at NJCAA National Championship

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Beach Volleyball team traveled to John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama for day three, Saturday, of the NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship, which consisted of Consolation Bracket play. After completion of the day, Richard Bland finished the season at 15-12, and earned a fifth place finish at the NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship.

In the first game of the Consolation Bracket, Richard Bland defeated Trinidad State College, 3-2.

Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teal defeated the Trojans 16-21, 21-11, and 15-10.

Pair 2: Alexis Scipione & Gabrielle Meador defeated the Trojans 19-21, 21-18, and 15-12.

Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley defeated the Trojans 18-21, 21-9, and 15-11.

Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachelle Martin fell to the Trojans 14-21 and 18-21.

Pair 5: Rachel Pickens & Aliyah Millner fell to the Trojans 13-21 and 12-21.

In the last game of the Consolation Bracket, Richard Bland defeated Sandhills Community College

Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teal did not finish due to the team reaching three wins before they ended.

Pair 2: Alexis Scipione & Gabrielle Meador defeated the Flyers 15-21, 21-8, and 15-4.

Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley defeated the Flyers 21-11 and 21-8.

Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachelle Martin defeated the Flyers 21-11 and 21-9.

Pair 5: Rachel Pickens & Aliyah Millner did not finish due to the team reaching three wins before they ended.
