Beach Volleyball Shuts Down Chargers, Downed by Flames on Day Two of Liberty Invitational
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Beach Volleyball team traveled to Liberty University Saturday afternoon for day two of the Liberty Invitational. The Statesmen faced the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College in their first game of the day, and host, Liberty University in the nightcap. After conclusion of the dual matches, Richard Bland has moved to 2-4 overall on the season.
In dual one of the day, the Statesmen defeated the Chargers, 5-0.
Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teel defeated the Chargers 21-13, 18-21, and 15-11.
Pair 2: Alexis Scipione & Gabrielle Meader defeated the Chargers 21-16 and 21-14.
Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley defeated the Chargers 21-11 and 21-13.
Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachel Pickens defeated the Chargers 21-18 and 23-21.
Pair 5: Rachelle Martin & Aliyah Millner defeated the Chargers 22-20, 10-21, and 15-12.
In dual two of the day, the Statesmen dropped the match to the Flames, 0-5.
Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teel fell to the Flames 8-21 and 16-21.
Pair 2: Alexis Scipione & Gabrielle Meader fell to Flames 21-18, 14-21, and 7-15.
Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley fell to the Flames 32-30, 15-21, and 11-15.
Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachel Pickens fell to the Flames 9-21 and 14-21.
Pair 5: Rachelle Martin & Aliyah Millner fell to the Flames 11-21 and 8-21.
The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next travels to Wake Technical Community College on Thursday, March 20th for a conference doubleheader dual with the Eagles. The matches are set to begin at 2pm and 4pm.
