Beach Volleyball Splits Day One of Liberty Invitational
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Beach Volleyball team traveled to Liberty University Friday afternoon for day one of the Liberty Invitational. The Statesmen faced the Knights of Southern Virginia University in their opening game, and Carson Newman University in their second game of the day. After conclusion of the dual matches, Richard Bland has moved to 1-3 overall on the season.
In dual one of the day, the Statesmen defeated the Knights, 3-2.
Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teel fell to the Knights 14-21, 21-17, and 16-18.
Pair 2: Alexis Scipione & Gabrielle Meader defeated the Knights 21-11, 17-21, and 15-9.
Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley defeated the Knights 21-13 and 21-14.
Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachel Pickens fell to the Knights 17-21, 22-20, and 11-15.
Pair 5: Rachelle Martin & Aliyah Millner earned a forfeit victory.
In dual two of the day, the Statesmen dropped the match to the Eagles, 0-5.
Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teel fell to the Eagles 16-21 and 19-21.
Pair 2: Alexis Scipione & Gabrielle Meader fell to Eagles 17-21 and 13-21.
Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley fell to the Eagles 17-21 and 13-21.
Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachel Pickens fell to the Eagles 9-21 and 17-21.
Pair 5: Rachelle Martin & Aliyah Millner fell to the Eagles 17-21 and 17-21.
The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next travels to Liberty University on Saturday, March 1st for day two of the Liberty University Invitational. The Statesmen will face Lancaster Bible College at 2pm and Liberty University at 6pm.
