RALEIGH, N.C. -- Sophomore Stanley Taylor/Petersburg posted team-highs of 21 points and 17 rebounds to lead Richard Bland College to a 78-72 Region 10 men's basketball road win at Wake Tech (N.C.) on Saturday evening in Raleigh, North Carolina. Classmates Tim Bing Jr./Suitland, Maryland and Tre' Patterson/Richmond each added 13 points for the visiting Statesmen (18-7, 12-5) against the host Eagles (12-15, 10-9).
Richard Bland led 32-27 at halftime and outscored Wake Tech 46-45 in the second half. Sophomore Robert Smith/Hampton and freshman Kenny Southerland/Richmond each contributed eight points, while redshirt-freshman Tyler Lloyd/Manassas added six points to the road victory.
Richard Bland and Wake Tech were playing for the 11th time, and the Statesmen continue to lead the series at 7-4. Richard Bland avenged a 76-73 setback to the Eagles last month on January 20 in Statesman Hall.
Richard Bland returns home for its final three regular season games in Statesman Hall next week, including Bryant & Stratton on Wednesday, February 21, at 7 p.m., Fayetteville Tech (N.C.) on Friday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. and Vance-Granville (N.C.) on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m.
